“Your Comfort Zone will Kill You” – Phillip Plein

All the things that inspire you are the very things that will bring you success, if you stop and take the time to get inspired. Sometimes we get so caught up in the reality of things that we forget that faith and dreams are a huge part of creating the life we want to live. You’re working at your job that pays the bills, life’s problems occurring nonstop, and you are exhausted. Don’t forget to find your inner peace! A lot of times it’s so much easier to relish in your struggles than changing your mindset and searching for the light at the end of the tunnel.

Having the right mindset will make sure you are equipped for anything life brings you. Everyone goes through hardships in life, it’s a part of life. Focus on what you want out of life, what you need to do to get there over time, and surround yourself with a solid team. A solid team could be your roommates, friends who share your passion, your manager, or anyone who contributes to your growth on your journey of success.

Having a solid team is major when working towards accomplishing your dreams because there will be times when you want to give up and run as far as way as possible. Good friends are supportive, stimulating, and never pass judgement. They add to your ideas, and even inspire new ones.

With all these things, you are ready to step outside of your comfort zone and do all those things that keep you up at night. Go after what you want in this life. If you aren’t sure where to start make small strides. Everyone wants to be the best at what they do that sometimes being the best version of YOURSELF gets lost in translation. Stepping out of your comfort zone means asserting yourself, taking that extra mile on projects you come up with, and doing things that will put you ahead of the game. It isn’t easy doing such brave acts of professionalism but not doing so can keep you in the same place for the rest of your life. Don’t let your comfort zone kill you! Life has so much more to offer.

What a Time to be Alive

In a time of excess, more is better. The latest designer collections are decked out with intricate and sometimes exaggerated details. Models adorned in lace, glitter, and all things conspicuous walking gracefully down the runway at fashion week was a utopia that left us all inspired for the seasons ahead. Coach 1941’s designer Stuart Vevers has given us the feels again with pieces dawning the brands’ infamous Coach logo. Nostalgic details like a monogrammed men’s puffer coat made me wish I had kept all my high school handbags and sneakers with C’s all over them. The pieces very  familiar and desirable all over again.

This spring, the collection brought us to a world of glamorous western renaissance. From the metallic finished leather bomber jackets to the ultra-femme lace slip dresses and the leather glitter boots were divine. The collection was a city girls’ country getaway dreams. Each piece dawned thoughtfully placed graffiti art from the late icon, Jeff Koons.  A homage to the late icon.

Natasha Poly in Versace ball skirt

Donatella helmed her spring collection with a whole lot of slay my life! The pieces were very strong and feminine while all a special nod to the past. The bright colors, the Versace chains and butterfly slip dresses were a roundup reminiscent of previous Versace collections. In fact the black and white ball skirt seen in the spring show was originally worn by Naomi Campbell in the 92’ Versace show. There wasn’t enough time to reproduce it so it made a second appearance, this time on Natasha Poly and it was fab. The quality is fantastic. Sexy feminine pieces that all made much sense for the season. Alike Coach, there was a western feel on the runway of the Versace spring show. It had the perfect dresses and outfits for a city girl. Donatella gave us feminine slip dresses as well. This will definitely be a go to trend for the upcoming season.

See other designers that are in the celebratory spirit this Spring. Also just a heads up this trend of excess will carryover into Fall so don’t feel like it’s impractical to splurge. Don’t be afraid to piece apart the collection for your everyday wardrobe. It’s a key technique to separate the actual 10% of your wardrobe that you actually wear from impulsive buys. These pieces have to work for your lifestyle.

The cultural trend has trickled up and hit the high fashion runways hard. We personally love seeing them in real life on everyday women. Cornrows are a great protective style and an easy maintainable look.
